Daily Makeup Routine

I know that every time I have an outfit post I list my makeup. I also realize that what I’m wearing rarely changes, so I thought I’d show you what my typical daily makeup looks like.

I don’t lay my makeup out like this when I go to put it on, I just wanted to make it look pretty for blog  purposes. And yes that is a GlossyBox lid.

Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl is one of my favorite highlighters, and it’s absolutely perfect for daily use. Since I have a yellow undertone to my skin, I like that this is pink toned because I feel like it adds a bit of a warmth to the glow it gives.

This is probably one of my all time favorite concealers. Nars Radiant Creamy concealer is hands down the best concealer for dark circles I’ve ever used. It’s okay for acne blemishes, but it’s not as good as the Tarte Amazonian Clay Concealer. I’m out of that one right now and since even though it’s not the best, the Nars does work I’m not worrying about repurchasing the Tarte one right now.

My Foundation is most days is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse, usually I prefer the Nars Sheer Glow or the Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua, but lately I’ve been using the Rimmel Foundation on days where I’m not taking photos or filming. It’s a really good slap it on and go product for me.

The Mascara pictured is the Rimmel Glam Retro something or other. I’m not positive because I don’t use it anymore. I love how it looks, and that it’s a breeze to apply, but it makes my eyes water like crazy. So right now I’m currently using the YSL Babydoll that I got a sample of and seems to be lasting for ages. When that runs out I’ll be forced to decide which YSL Mascara to purchase since they’re the only brand that I’ve tried where my eyes don’t water like crazy.

My setting powder which I don’t use with the Nars foundation is the Makeup Forever Professional HD Setting Powder. I love this powder with every other foundation I’ve tried it with, but I don’t like what it does to the Nars foundation.

These are the Lancome Eyeshadows that I use on pretty much a daily bases. I have a NYX palette and a BH cosmetics 120 palette but I just don’t love them as much as I do these. The Lorac Pro Palette is on my Christmas list though.

And the last thing in my daily makeup routine is my blush which is the Nars Deep Throat Blush. It’s terrible but I only own one blush. I went through a big clearing out and use it up phase and somehow got to the point that for awhile I was actually out of blush. It was awful. I’m just so indecisive and rather than buy a few I ended up not buying any for the longest time. It was Maxwell that recommended this blush to me so of course I needed it instantly. I do plan on buying a blush palette soon, but I’m torn between Nars, Sleek and Inglot. I might go with two, but that just seems excessive to me.

There’s no lip product pictured because that changes constantly. Or I’m just not wearing one. Mostly it’s the latter, because I’m terribly forgetful.

What’s your everyday makeup or do you switch it up everyday?

Hot Pink Summer Kisses or YSL Succulent Pomegrante

I’ve had YSL’s Succulent Pomegrante for a while now, and while I haven’t worn it often because of a terrible break out on my chin that I haven’t wanted to draw attention to, I am completely in love with it. So I thought I’d do a bit of a mini review.

First like all the other Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm’s it has gorgeous Silver packaging with a Gold emblem over a background that’s ment to be what the color looks like inside. I’d say it’s a close match but obviously a bit off because it’s metallic.

The of course the color is amazing. It’s a very bright pink, which can look very scary, but it’s truely amazing on. Lets look at it, please excuse the lighting differences from image to image, I promise that the colors shown are true to color.

First my lips with nothing but lipbalm on. Smith’s Strawberry Rosebud Salve to be exact. Why yes that is the same picture from my last YSL review, thank you for noticing. In my opinion, bare lips are bare lips and there was no sense taking a fresh picture when I had a perfectly good one already.

Then we have the color freshly applied. It’s a gorgeous warm pink that’s sheer, but still bright. It feels amazingly moisturizing on the lips and wears really well.

Finally, for some reason I have an image of it a few hours after application. I’d like to say I did it on purpose to show you how it wears, but really I’m sure it was just a random thing, or I had my husband crop the wrong photo. Whatever.

Even a few hours later it still gives a lovely rosy, glowy tint to your lips and if I could get that color on my cheeks I’d be the happiest woman in the world.

This is definitely my favorite product for summer, completely beating out Tarte’s Lip Pencil in Joy from last Summer.

Face of the Day or Don’t I look Pretty

The other day I really really loved the way my makeup turned out so I asked my husband to snap a quick picture so I could share it with you guys.

He of course managed to get a couple awesome ones.

I’m wearing on my face Chanels Vitalumiere Aqua, Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Concealer, Nars Deep Throat and YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in #4 Succulent Pomegranate.

My eye makeup was my favorite part. I’m wearing Benefit’s Leggy Shadow all over my lids, with Too Faced Ever After in the outer corner, Urban Decay’s Bourbon 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner Pencil and I kinda smudged it a bit with a Lancôme eyeliner brush, Tarina Tarintinos’s Broken doll eyeliner on my waterline and in the inner corner, and finally YSL’s Shocking Mascara.

This has pretty much been my go to easy makeup look and I feel like it looks amazing. It’s simple, quick and I’m obsessed with this routine.

Stylish Sundays or Comic Books

I know today’s post is going up late, it’s been a very busy day,and I just lost track of time. There is a bit of a back story behind the local I chose for this weeks outfit pictures. My dad collects comics, he has since he was a kid. He actually taught me to read using the names on his Character Cards. That’s not the actual name of the cards, but they’re like baseball cards for comic book characters. Both he and my mother play role playing games. That’s actually adorably how they met. I spent a lot of time as a child exploring comic shops because of this, most specifically Comic Book World. So when a comic shop opened up a few towns over from where I live I had to check it out. Then I discovered the owner had hand painted on a super cool Spiderman on the side of his shop, and had a cool poster collage on his window. So I decided that it was the perfect place to take this weeks photos, and after obtaining permission did just that. So to make a long story short (Too Late!) lets jump into the outfit post.

I’m wearing a White Tee from Madewell, Blue Skirt with Red Polka Dots from The Limited, White Converse and my Tiny Owl Necklace from Forever 21.

On my face is Dr. Jart+ Black Label BB Cream, YSL Mascara, Nars Deep Throat and Tarte’s Lipsurgence In Joy. And you can’t see it but surprise, surprise on my nails is Cheyne Walk by Nails Inc. I know you’re all so stunned, I just never use that color
I swear my hair isn’t that blond in real life, it’s just the lighting.
This outfit was really easy and comfortable, but I felt like it didn’t look like I thought it would when I planned it out on my head. While the Images are great, I feel like this wasn’t the most flattering outfit I’ve ever worn. So why did I put it up? Because this isn’t stylized, these outfits are actually things I wear in my day to day life. After I we took these photos, I went shopping. That haul will be up in the next couple of days.
P.S. When I was little I wanted to be Kitty Pride or Jubilee.

Fresh Faced and Flushed Cheeks

I loved the makeup I had on in yesterday’s post so much that I decided to do a post about it all on its own.

For my face I used Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay Concealer which I love so much it as its very own post here, and finally Fashion Admirer which is a Lancôme Eyeshadow for blush. I’m out of blush and still haven’t bought any yet. It’s because I’m extremely indecisive and am now looking at Inglot instead of Lancôme. I actually kinda really liked it as blush though so its all good.

Unfortunately I didn’t get as good of a shot of my eye makeup as I would have liked, but blame me and not the photographer. For my eyes I used Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Kiss The Bride all over the lid from the Romance Palette and Lancôme Fashion Admirer in my crease  which is the same one I used as blush, and Off The Rack in the inner corner, and Daylight as my highlight on my brow bone from the Color Design Palette that I got as a free gift with purchase, . Then I used Urban Decay Bourbon 24/7 glide on eyeliner and YSL shocking Mascara for my top lashes which I also adore so much it has its very own post here and Lancôme Definicils Mascara in Black for my bottom lashes which was also in my Christmas gift set.

For my lips I used Tarte’s LipSurgence Lip Tint in Joy and I adore it. I’m extremely pale so bright lip colors stand out all the more on me, but I’m okay with that. I received this in a birch box and it maybe one of my favorite things I ever received from them.

Below I have some swatches of the products used and close ups of the shadows.

From Left to Right: Urban Decay Bourbon 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil, Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Joy, Too Faced Kiss The Bride, Lancôme Fashion Admirer and Off The Rack

I loved this makeup look, if felt very fresh for the upcoming spring, and I loved the monochromatic look. I will definitely be repeating it in the very near future. What’s your go to makeup look for spring?
