Stylish Sundays: 28th

It was my 28th birthday this past Thursday, and I adored my outfit and makeup. The first photo probably isn’t my favorite ever take of me, but the other full shot was a bit too Jessica Rabbit for this blog.

I absolutely loved this dress. It fit amazing, and it had elbow patches, which I’m obsessed with.

I still adore these boots. I swear I’m going to wear them until all the studs fall off. They’re so comfortable.

And to include a little mini birthday haul. I’ve already shown this on instagram, twitter and facebook, but I figured why not here as well.

Clockwise from bottom left: Tim Minchin So Fucking Rock Tee from my son, Nightmares by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller, The Last Werewolf by Glenn Duncan and H&M Chelsea Boots all from my husband. Not Pictured, because they’re on iTunes, the 3 Tim Minchin Albums (So Fucking Rock Live, Ready For This Live and Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra Live as well as the singles for Drowned and The Fence)  that my parents and I got for myself.  It was a pretty great birthday, I had an ice cream cake that had sugar spiders on it because they were adorable and we went to a local Mexican restaurant where I had some awesome fajitas and then chilled at home.

What’s been the best birthday gift you’ve ever gotten?

Gap Summer Sale Haul

Gap’s Summer sale is going on right now, and since I’m obsessed with their Legging jeans I just had to get a couple pairs.

I decided to get them in ankle length because as I mentioned in last weeks Stylish Sunday’s post I am obsessed with ankle length jeans.

I picked them up in Washed Ink and Vapor Wash

I know awkward picture right? But I wanted to show what these looked like on. The wash on the bottom pair is my favorite, but I think I like the top pair a little bit more because they’re slightly stretchier and just a bit more comfortable. However both pairs are super comfortable because they’re the legging jeans.

I love that I decided to buy them in ankle length because they’re absolutely perfect for me. I can still cuff them a bit if I want but they hit perfectly at my ankle and will work perfect with ankle boots and regular knee high boots this fall. And I love that they feel a little bit vintage or retro. I’m kinda absolutely obsessed.

But the very best part is I got both pairs for less than the cost of one pair full price. Gap really does have the best sales.

I’m also wearing a Sevenly Tee supporting Shelterwings, and my Coral Keds

Under Armour Haul

I said for a long time that I was going to replace my Nike Dual Fusion running shoes with some Under Armour ones, and I finally did.

I am absolutely in love with them. I still haven’t been able to wear them out running yet because my ankle is still to weak for running, but I can’t wait to get back into it. I have worn them around the house and they are super comfortable. My son has these shoes in blue and grey and he absolutely loves them so that was the main deciding factor in my picking these. Plus it’s kinda cute that we have matching shoes now. I’ll put up a picture of us wearing them together when I do another workout outfit post.

Spring Lips and Scents

I mentioned in my last Sephora haul that I would be going back to get a lip color that wasn’t in the last time I was there. I didn’t end up getting that particular color, but I did find a couple of other things that I fell in love with.

I picked up the Hourglass Lipglosses in Truth and LushFashion and Happy Things! Spring Lips and Scents

Left to Right: Truth, Lush

I was interested in Truth because Fleur De Force mentioned it in her January Favorites, and Lush caught my eye while I was there because I have a soft spot for peach lip colors.

While I was in the check out eye something caught my eye and I just had to pick it up.

I fell in love with Atelier Cologne’s Orange Sanguine from a sample, so for that alone I would have brought this home with me. Luckily the Vanille Insensée. I eventually want to try all of Atelier Cologne’s Cologne Absolue’s, but these two will suffice for now.

Then I picked up the L’Occitane 500 point perk.

It came with two mini hand cream’s, a shower oil, a lotion and a body oil. There was also a mini washbag that’s designed to look like a postcard, that may or may not be the entire reason I wanted the set.

Off to the Market

Last Friday I went out to go to the Library and was sorely disappointed to find that it had closed early. So instead my husband suggested I take a wander around our local market. While there I managed to pick up a few pretty things and I thought I’d share them here.

It was nice to be able to wander around all by my lonesome, and pick out flowers, some pretty drinks and a few books. I know my book buying has been a bit out of hand lately. I can’t say that it’s going to change anytime soon. Though I am going to try and cut it down to one at a time.

I know carnations aren’t considered one of the best flowers, but I adore them and their scent. I thought that these mini pink ones were absolutely darling, and perfect to put in this random empty mason jar I had. The bouquet on the left came home with me because of the interesting vase, pretty colors and the fact that none of those flowers made me sneeze.

I picked up the Izze Sparkling Juices on a whim, because the looked pretty and I’m looking for an alternative to sodas. i don’t usually drink fizzy drinks, but sometimes I just really want one and thought these would fun to try.
