Stylish Sundays: Stripes and Plaid

Have I ever mentioned how much I love flannel shirts? No?

Okay well I love them because they’re soft and they’re cozy and they make me feel stupidly snuggly and very 90’s grunge at the same time. And I love Grunge.

These were actually taken before my Thanksgiving photo’s and I’m 100% certain that I was just running errands for thanksgiving.

Do you notice the Howl monster trying to hide behind me?

I love this photo because it has both mine and Howl’s feet in it, like he wanted to show off his feet too.

Stylish Sundays: Stripes and Sperry’s

This is another before I got my hair cut outfit, I’ve got one more coming that I might do midweek and then I’ll be all caught up to now.

Have I mentioned before how much I love these peach pants?

Because I’m kind of obsessed with them. I’m pretty sure that it’s because they’re ankle length. Because I just ordered two more pairs of ankle length pants. I’m also a huge fan of this shirt. It’s stripey, and cozy and perfect. I wear it way more than I should, and it’s been washed a lot. But it’s held up really well, so I’ll probably wear it til it’s falling apart.

I don’t actually miss my long hair. Normally whenever I get it cut, I do. And I tell people to never let me cut my hair again. But this time is different. Looking back at pictures from when I had long hair, I don’t miss it at all. I’m so glad I cut it off and I’m excited about keeping it this length, or maybe even going an inch or two shorter.

I love these shoes, but they still aren’t broken in yet. I skipped the no show socks this day and ended up with terrible blisters on the backs of my heels. And I didn’t have any bandaids with me so I ended up driving home from the store barefoot. Which let me tell you, feels weird. Like Really wrong. I need to learn to get some comfortable flats to keep in the car.

What’s your current favorite clothing item?

Stylish Sundays: July 4th Inspiration

I was getting dressed one morning and realized I looked really patriotic. At first I thought about saving this post for July 4th, because I tend to just wear cozy shorts and a tee on the actual 4th out of practicality and sheer laziness.

But then I decided I should share the outfit now, so you guys could get an idea of something different to wear.

I curled my hair with my flat iron and then pulled it back with a Red Spotted Emi-Jay Hairtie. I told you I’m obsessed with these ties, I don’t use anything else in my hair.

I wore one my favorite necklaces which is affectionately called “Tiny Owl” in my house. Similar here.

I absolutely love these sunglasses, they’re the Madewell Drifter glasses and I feel like this style is absolutely timeless, you can get similar ones to mine here.

I bought these Sperry’s from Journey’s last year and I still absolutely adore them. They’re so comfortable and worn in and perfect. I can easily see wearing these til they fall apart, which will be a very long time from now. Sperry’s are incredibly well made.

Stylish Sundays: Striped

A little while ago it was super warm, so I took advantage of it and wore one of my favorite dresses.

I felt really good this day, it was the first warm day in a while and I was really thankful for it. I love winter. But I love spring more, because Spring means rain, and I adore rain.

I bought these white converse last year and I ended up loving them so much more than I do my black pair. They’re just so fun and classic. I don’t mind that the toes are scuffed a bit because that cleans up easy, but they have already been through the wash twice because I’m such a klutz.

Which season is your favorite?

Easy Summer Outfit or Fall into the Gap

I mentioned in my Mother’s Day Gift Guide that if I could have whatever I wanted for Mother’s Day I’d like a Gift Card to the Gap. So for today’s post I wanted to show you what I’d buy with that card.
Below is my perfect outfit, it’s trendy, but still classy at the same time. The main part fits perfectly in to the black and white trend. I adore the way Gap Tees fit and this black Market T has what I consider the absolute perfect fit. I also love the Skimmer Jeans and I love these in White. I’ve kinda been in love with ankle skimming jeans and have been cuffing mine since I saw Audrey Hepburn wear them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Then I added this Neon Striped Scarf and this Striped Canvas Tote because I’m obsessed with Stripes. Then because it’s spring time and I love ballet flats I added in this floral pair in pink. I thought it tied it all together perfectly.

This outfit has the floral trend for spring, the black and white trend, Neon, and Stripes, and still works perfectly. Even though it has all those trends in it, it’s still really grown up, and absolutely perfect for my everyday life. Honestly if I could dress like this everyday I would.

While I love fashion, and sometimes you have to take a risk, simple basics like this can make a great outfit for everyday errands and easy lazy days. And you know I’m all about lazy days.
