Stylish Sunday’s: Take a Hike

It’s spring, which means that I am back on a fitness kick. It’s not for the same reason that everyone else is trying to get fit. I don’t like to go swimming and I haven’t worn a bikini since I was 16 and my best friend at the time decided that I needed one. So I’m not looking to get bikini ready. It’s actually that I just like to walk, and our town has a very nice trail. So whenever it gets warm I make sure to use it.

I still hate these shoes, I plan on replacing them with some Under Armour trainers, hopefully by the end of this summer.  Despite wearing them at least 3 times a week last summer they just don’t seem like I’ve broken them in yet. Plus I’m actually not that big a fan of Nike, it’s just what the sports store nearest me seems to have the most of. Under Armour is actually my favorite workout brand.

What’s your favorite brand of Workout Gear? When and how do you most like to exercise?

Blogmas Day 14: Empties/Products I’ve Used Up

This is going up really late, by about two weeks actually. I was going to post this video a few weeks ago, but every time I would try to upload it either Vegas Pro would crash, or I would get busy and it just wouldn’t get done. But here it finally is, my Empties/ Products I’ve used up video

Bonus note: My skintone matches my wall.

EradiKate Review or Pink Splotches of Amazing

For today’s very late post I’m going to review EradiKate by Kate Somerville. I’m going to go ahead and say that this is going to be a positive review. I know, you’re surprised, I kinda am too. It’s a leave on acne treatment, best used at night.

Similar to the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion it has pink goo on the bottom and a clear liquid on top. To apply it to your face you dip a q-tip straight down and then dot it on your acne. I use this every night provided my face isn’t feeling to sensitive. It’s not drying but it does sting a bit if the blemish is new or open. I put this on all my blemishes until they go away completely.  As much as I hate to show this photo, here’s what it looks like once applied.

That’s a lot of pink right? Most of those are mostly healed up, but now you can see that I’m not kidding when I say I have severe hormonal acne. Also please excuse the bags under my eyes, it’s partially the angle and partially that this photo was taken at 1 am the day before I went to the pride festival. I had just finished the DIY floral crown I recently posted.

This, among other things I’ve recently added to my routine, is really helping, it used to be much worse than it looks now. While this isn’t an instant cure, there really isn’t anything for acne that actually is.

Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Collection Review or Scrubby Scrubby

I’ve had my Clarisonic for a little less than 3 months now, so I thought I’d tell you guys what I think of it. I know I’m late to the party with this one, but these are expensive and until recommended by my dermatologist, I just couldnt justify the price. So I headed to Sephora, asked for help choosing the right one for me, which is my favorite thing about my Sephora. After a 20 minute conversation and some serious deliberation, I purchased the Clarisonic Mia 2 Acne Clarifying Collection. It came with the Brush, a brush head, a cleanser, the charger and a bonus clear travel case.

I’m actually pretty in love with it. I know my latest skincare reviews have all been negative, but I’m nothing but honest here. I’ve been using it either twice a day or once a day depending on how my face feels in the morning. If my face is feeling sensitive then I only use it once in the evening.

It makes my skin feel really clean and scrubbed. I love the way that it makes my face feel after I’ve used it. I’m currently using it with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, but I had previously used it with the Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Cleanser. I hated that Cleanser, but I still loved using the Clarisonic with it.

It doesn’t really exfoliate my skin, the brush head is to gentle for that. It does deep clean my skin though, which has lessened my acne and completely gotten rid of any black heads I once had. It also seems so have shrunk my pores a bit, but that’s probably because they’re unclogged. I’m not really sure if it’s doing anything else for my skin, but I adore using it everynight.

Now for my final verdict: Personally I think this is genius, and I really love using it. If I had to I would repurchase it over again. It’s well worth the price you pay for it, and after the initial purchase you then only have to replace the brush heads.

Kate Somerville Clarifying Mask Review or It Burns Us

Fashion and Happy Things! Kate Somerville Clarifying Mask Review or It Burns Us

Bet you a Kate Spade Handbag that you can guess by the title and the image how this review is gonna go. Yep, that’s right I returned this. I almost never return things only if I have a really bad reaction to the product or I hate it enough that I refuse to give it away.

This one was the latter. I hated this so much I didn’t even take the time to get a proper product image before I returned this. As the title says it burned. Horribly. I’m talking tears here people, and I have used some intense acne treatments. This however was the most painful one I’ve ever tried. It warns on the box that your face will be red after use. Of course it will be, because this mask feels like it’s burning your face off.

But did it work? Why yes, yes it did. Not as well as some other masks I’ve used, but it worked. The next morning after using it my acne was smaller and my skin was bright. But it did nothing for my tiny little red scars that are left over from acne. It actually made those look worse.

Since those are what’s bothering me the most I’m going to try a few other masks. I currently have the Fresh Umbrian Clay one, and next on my list are the First Aid Beauty Oatmeal Mask, the Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal one and the Glam Glow Super Mud one everyone seems to be loving.

Final verdict? If you can handle the burn, and have severe acne then go for it. It works, but it might not get rid of your scars. Buy it here
