Stylish Sundays: Holiday Throwback

Hey guys, so I took some major time off after Christmas right? But I’m back now and hopefully will be back to my regular posting schedule.

This outfit is actually what I wore to my family’s on Christmas eve.

On My Face: Nars Tinted Moisturizer, Nars Creamy Concealer, Nars Blush in Deep Throat, The Balm Highlighter in Mary Lou Manizer, Marc Jacobs The Lolita Palette, Makeup Forever Mascara, Nars Matte Velvet Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl (Clearly I have a favorite brand of makeup now)

Necklace: Kate Spade

On My Nails: Maybelline Ruby and Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday.

And as per tradition here I am in my christmas pajamas. This year I got Aerie Cable Knit Jogger in Mint and the Aerie Sleep Tank in Fox Print. And I’m wearing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Socks that have Clarice on them.

Blogmas Day 8: Snow Day

I mentioned in yesterdays post that we’ve been sort of snowed in for the past couple days. Well I managed to get outside to take some photos and I’m very excited about them.

I’m wearing a Black Peacoat from Aero, Camel Tie Back Sweater from Loft, Black H&M Skinny Trousers, I knitted my hat myself with Alpaca Baby grande yarn, and of course my Pillar Box Red Original Glossy Short Boots.

My makeup is the usual except on my lips is Benetint.

I was really excited to finally get my Red Hunter Boots out in the snow. I’ve been waiting since I got them in February. I definitely need to some wellie socks because even with the Dr. Scholls Cozy insoles my feet still felt a bit cold.

Howl is also a really big fan of the snow.

He liked digging and rubbing his nose in it.

He was absolutely caked in snow by the time I got him to come inside. Which he didn’t want to do. He wanted to stay outside all day long. I kinda did too, the snow was perfect for snowman building and snowball fights which we had plenty of.

I’m so excited that we’re getting snow this year and I’m hoping for many more snow days, just as perfect as this one.

Blogmas Day 4:

For fun, here’s a picture of my coffee from today. I really do love these and for days I’m extra lazy I can just pick them up in the grocery store. Fashion and Happy Things! Blogmas Day 4:

Today, Howl decided he wanted to go on an adventure. He decided he wanted to go across my yard, down the road, back up the road and through a field. He had such a marvelous time on his Grand Adventure. In the ensuing chase I pulled a muscle in or twisted my ankle as the pain is all the way up to my knee. So now I’m trapped on my couch and he’s taking a nap because he’s worn out from running all over the place.

In better news last night I officially finished my Holiday shopping and anything else I buy now is just extra. I’m quite happy about that. Normally I’m stressed out about holiday shopping until nearly the end of December, but now all that’s left for me to do is wrap presents. So happy, because I love to wrap presents. Of course if Howl continues this behavior, then he will be getting the puppy equivalent of coal, whatever that may be.

Fashion and Happy Things! Blogmas Day 4:

In a completely unrelated topic, I’ve finally decided which shoes to use my Dr. Scholls For Her Cozy Cushions, that I received from Influenster, in. I’ve decided that they will be going in my Pillar Box Red Short Hunter Boots since I originally wanted them to use as snow boots. I’m so excited, and when I finally get a pair of the Hunter Wellie Socks for them they’re going to be the most cozy, snuggly, warm boots ever. Is it sad that I’m excited about cozy insoles? Probably, but whatever, cozy is my motto. For serious.

Book Review: Bitter River

This weeks book is Bitter River by Julia Keller. This book is about Bell Elkins and is the second in a series, but it’s thankfully one of those series where each book can stand on it’s own, and honestly I didn’t realize it was in a series until I was over halfway through the book and they mentioned something that seemed like they wouldn’t have said it unless it was in another book.

This book begins with the body of 16 year old Lucinda Trimble being found in her car in Bitter River. What starts out looking like an accident turns out to be murder and it’s up to Bell Elkins and Nick Fogelsong to find out who killed this young girl. But then a friend from Bell’s past shows up and terrible things start happening to her town. Is it her friends fault that these horrible things are happening in the small town of Acker’s Gap, or is it all just one big coincidence?

I absolutely adored this book. Honestly, I picked it up because of the cover. I walked past it twice, but it the cover kept catching my eye and I just had to pick it up and I’m so glad I did. I loved Bell, I loved the story and I adored the way it’s written. I’m definitely going to be picking up the first book A Killing In The Hills because I really ended up attached to the people in the town and I want to know more about them.

Final Verdict: if you like mystery novels and thrillers, then I fully recommend this book. Bitter River was absolutely one of my favorite books I’ve read this season.

I decided to base my outfit off the cover of this book. I don’t have a red coat, but I’ve been wanting one ever since I saw the one on the cover. So instead I wore:

Navy Blue Toggle Coat from Delias, Gap Legging Jeans, Hunter Huntress Boots in Green. My earrings are Kate Spade and my Hair tie is from Emi-Jay

This sunday’s outfit post will be what I was wearing underneath the coat.

Stylish Sundays: Superdry and Cozy

It was actually cold this week, which has me super excited for the upcoming colder weather. I love fall and winter weather.

I’m wearing Love Rocks sweater, H&M Black Skinny Trousers, Hunter “Huntress” Rainboots and Supedry Bobble Hat.

On My Face: Nars Sheer Glow, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Nars Deep Throat, YSL Babydoll Mascara, Rosebud Salve Lip Balm.

I adore this hat, I got it a couple years ago for Christmas after I told my husband how much I adored FleurDeForce’s exact same one. It’s super cozy and schnuggly and you’ll be seeing it again several times this winter.

Howl is wearing a blue doggy hoodie with a bone on the back. He actually really likes this hoodie, until you put the hood on his head.

It was really rainy and dreary the day we too these photos, which is exactly the sort of day I love. I’m looking forward to more and more days like this, and more days spent in my coziest clothes.
