Makeup: Same as above.

(if you follow me on Tumblr you saw this image on christmas morning, Yes I put makeup on to take a photo in my pajamas for the internet.)

Stylish Sundays: Summer Love

The pictures were taken before I cut my hair, and I have a few more sets of photos that were pretaken that will go up soon.

Fashion and Happy Things! Stylish Sundays: Summer Love

Tank: Aerie Summer Love Tank, AE Jeans from Years ago, Sandals from Wet Seal also really old Necklace from a website that no longer exists.

I bought the Summer Love Tanks from Aerie to do yoga in, but the other day was laundry day so I pulled this tank out of my drawer, these old jeans and grabbed random shoes from my closet, then I decided it was cute and couldn’t remember why I never wear those jeans. Then I sat down. These are Low Rise Jeans, and I just haven’t been a fan of them since freshman year of High School.

On My Face: Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Makeup Forever HD Setting Powder, The Balm Frat Boy Blush, Benefit Watts Up Highlighter, Marc Jacobs The Lolita Palette, YSL Shocking Mascara, Hourglass Lush Extreme Sheen Lipgloss

I found a random bottle of the Vita Lumiere Aqua in the back of my drawer the other day that still had some left in it. Wearing it really made me miss it, and I can definitely see repurchasing this again very soon.

I braided two small braids on either side of my head, twisted some hair from next to each braid loosely around them and then pinned them together at the back of my head. I finished it with some Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I really liked how it turned out and am interested to see how this style will look with my short hair.

My Nails were Deborah Lippmann’s Blue Orchid, which is my current favorite blue polish.

And a close up of my sandals. On my toes is Zoya’s Robin.  I bought this polish because I saw it on Aria on Pretty Little Liars and she’s one of my favorites. Spencer’s my other favorite.

What’s your go to laundry day outfit? Or are you like me and just do laundry when you realize you have nothing you normally wear left?

Workout Catch-22

So I’ve made it no secret that I fail hard at working out. I bring it up, show you workout clothes I want to buy, and then don’t bring it up again for months. Plus I’m certain it’s clear from my photos I haven’t lost any weight (okay I have, 5 lbs but that from the flu so it doesn’t count). So obviously I’m not working out and just not talking about it.

You may remember these pictures from early summer.

This one was planned and posed: Taken before I took Howl on a walk around the track

Fashion and Happy Things! Workout Catch 22

This is an accurate portrayal of how I use my workout gear:Fashion and Happy Things! Workout Catch 22

There’s actually a Catch-22 behind this wanting to work out, but not actually doing it. I should be working out, for the very reason that most of the time, I can’t work out. And there’s actually two of them.

The biggest reason is also why I’m sick so often. I have Asthma, which by itself isn’t that bad, as my sister, who’s lived with it her whole life can tell you. But my asthma attacks were being misdiagnosed as bronchitis, which is treated two ways with an inhaler and antibiotics. Since it was Asthma the antibiotics were unnecessary, I was only damaging my immune system by taking them. So now I’ve been properly diagnosed, but I have a low immune system and without medication, trouble breathing.

So I should be working out to build up my lung capacity and my immune system, but I can’t because I almost constantly have a cold or allergies, and I can’t breath during the seasons allergies aren’t a problem because of heat or cold.

The second catch-22 is I have a bad knee. I did busted it while skateboarding. When I went to the hospital, they said I just bruised my kneecap. Years later during x-rays for another injury, the doctor mentioned I had an awkwardly healed hairline fracture, and offered surgery to repair it. When I said no, he recommend exercise, and said that my knee will probably bother me the rest of my life, and I have a higher risk of arthritis in that knee. If I walk to far, run to fast or if it’s going to rain, my knee hurts.

As I mentioned above, I’m not completely in active, I do have a dog who needs to be taken on long walks for his health. We can’t go as often as I’d like too, but that’s where my husband comes in.

So even though it’s the new year, and I don’t do resolutions, my goal for this year is to move more. What are your goals for this year?

Stylish Sundays: Workin On My Fitness or Aerie Haul

I know it says Haul in the title, because it sort of is. I ordered some stuff last week when Aerie had a sale and I’m kinda obsessed with it all. I kinda got 2 “outfits” for the price of 1, which is exactly the kind of sale I adore. Normally I’ll do a Haul post and then feature the items in Stylish Sundays as soon as I can, but I figured I’d go ahead and just combine it, all lazy like.

In this first outfit I’m wearing the Aerie Summer Love Tank in Hibiscus, Aerie Slim Gym Yoga Skinny Crop Pant in True Black,

a Danskin sports Bra, Emi-Jay Hair Tie,

Under Armour Running Socks, Nike Duel Fusion St 2’s.

This was a an incredibly comfortable outfit, I wore it to work out in. Well sort of work out, currently we’ve been taking Howl to our local running trail and we half run, half walk around the trail with him. He absolutely loves it, and it wears everybody out.

The Second Outfit I’m kinda wearing the exact same thing, just different colors. No, seriously look, I’m wearing a Aerie Summer Love Tank in Dark Heather Grey, a pink Danskin Sports Bra, Aerie Slim Gym Yoga Skinny Crop Pant in Silver, and not shown but I promise are there Under Armour Running Socks.

Fashion and Happy Things! Stylish Sundays: Workin On My Fitness or Aerie Haul

I bet your wondering why I’m just casually lounging on my couch in yoga pants with fabulous blown out hair. Well that’s because that picture was taken today. Yep, and I’m having a lazy pampering day today. So I blew out my hair this morning, and I’ll be trying out my Korres Sleeping Facial tonight, and at some point I’ll probably be repainting my nails. Bonus you’re getting a sneak peak of an upcoming post in this picture.

About why I bought two of just about the same outfit. When I find something that works, I beat it to death, and baby this WORKS. I want more from Aerie, I adore how comfortable everything is. I’ve been obsessed with Under Armour Socks for a while now, and Emi-Jay Hair Ties are honestly the only ones I willingly use. I’ll use something else if I have to, but I flat out prefer the Emi-Jay ones. They’re cute, they don’t damage my hair and Emi-Jay supports things like Operation Smile, Project Knapsack and Step Up Women’s Network, and they’re supporting it with 20% of their proceeds. Plus if they get stretched out just toss them in a small Laundry bag and throw them in the dryer and they’re good as new. The only things I don’t 100% love are my shoes. I bought these because I needed them and they were available, but I plan to replace them with either these or these Asics very soon.

Now you see why I didn’t bother with a Haul or 2 seperate posts. It seemed kinda wasteful to be posting 2 OOTD’s with the exact same outfit, or if not wasteful then redundant.

I’m definitely planning on getting more workout gear, especially from Aerie. Actually to warn everyone who’ll be shopping for me for my birthday this year (I’ll be 27) expect to see workout gear on my list. I hope to loose 20 lbs before I turn 30. Since I’ve managed to only not gain anymore weight for the last 2 years, I  honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to do it.

Also, I really want/need a Jawbone Up. I live a pretty sedentary life, with poor sleep, and this is the perfect solution. It alerts you when you’ve been idle for too long, it tracks your sleep, your eating and how much you’ve moved and how many calories you’ve burned doing it. And you don’t have to take it off to shower or snowball fight according to the site. I’m kinda in love and think this is something I’ll be saving for (and adding to my birthday list!)

What To Wear: To Yoga

I know January is all about fitness for well everyone, and the top resolution is always to lose weight or get in shape. But even though my post on yoga clothes is timely, it’s not because of a resolution. It’s because I need to breathe. You see I have asthma, and in his hunt to try and make me breathe better, my husband read somewhere that yoga helps. He also read that it helps build your immune system, and can help with anxiety. Since those are all things I have issues with, obviously yoga is perfect for me. Yoga also helps with a ton of other issues you may have, really it’s like windex (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, anyone?)

I’m actually not that big a fan of exercising, or eating heathy. But last year I went on a fitness kick that lasted until I got insanely sick in late August. I was eating better, and just walking on the treadmill for 15 minutes everyday. That doesn’t sound like much, but it was better than nothing, and I did see weight loss and I generally felt better. So I thought I’d give yoga a try. I’ve tried it in the past, and I liked it, but being the horrible person I am, I kept giggling at the instructors mustache. Really she should have done something about that before putting a DVD out there, and like I said I’m a horrible, easily distracted person.

So today I ran out and picked up a Beginners Yoga DVD, and went looking or a pink yoga mat. I didn’t find one so I’m going to have to order online. While I was online, I got bored and began looking at yoga clothes, and found that Aerie has a plethora of adorable stuff. I knew aerie sold stuff like that, but I though it was mostly dorm lounge things.

So here’s my adorable Yoga outfit from Aerie.
Fashion and Happy Things! What To Wear: To Yoga
First is the Seemless Bra shown in shocking pink, but honestly I want all the colors. A decent and comfortable bra is extremely important when you’re doing any sort of workout. If you’re wearing an improper bra you can actually hurt yourself. Your underwear is probably always the most important part of your outfit.

Then I have  the Pretty Hi-Lo Tee in Slab Grey, but once again I want all the colors. I’m kinda in love with it.

Of course you can’t walk around pants-less,  and I adore these Slim Gym Yoga Skinny Pants. I think the tie at the side is adorable, and I prefer legging type pants when I’m working out if I need long pants.

I picked out this Daydreamer Popover incase I should have to run out while I’m still in my yoga clothes. While I don’t recommend it, I can’t say I haven’t ever run out in my workout gear. Sometimes it just can’t be helped. But if you’re running out in full makeup and yoga pants its pretty obvious you haven’t just come from the gym and aren’t heading to it. Plus sometimes my house is just cold and I can’t resist a cute Hoodie.

To finish off the outfit I added these socks as well as the headbands and hair ties. I am not a fan of cold feet or hair in my face so both of these are perfect, and the Emi-Jay style hair ties are super cute. Though truthfully, I prefer the Emi-Jay ones. They tend to just be better for my hair, don’t stretch out, and come in cuter colors.

New workout gear always encourages me to workout, and after I stick with this for a few weeks, I plan on picking up the things shown above and a few other things. What do you wear when you workout readers? Any suggestions on where to shop?
