Stylish Sundays: First Of Fall

This is my first official Fall outfit post, since today is the first day of fall. I along with most of the fashion world, absolutely adore fall. It kicks of the coziest time of the year and everything changes. From now until just after Valentines Day the world is wonderful.

Of course since I’m still ill, the first outfit is just a toe in to fall fashion. I adore these green pants from H&M, last seen here. And this studded top from Gap is one of my absolute favorites, last seen here. My shoes are also studded loafers, that are the brand Wanted and I got from DSW.

For my bracelet I just wore an H&M black and gold bangle, and on my nails is Lancome’s Noir Caviar which is still going strong as my all time favorite. I actually think I might need to buy a new bottle soon, because I’m seriously running low.

Here’s a better look at the shoes. I absolutely love these, and even though I’ve worn them in all seasons, I think they’re at their best when paired with fall fashions.

Howl is doing much better, which I am very excited about. This is his first fall ever. Since he was born in February. And I am so excited for him to play in leaves and go trick or treating with my son. And honestly? Winter was so weird last year I’m not even sure he saw snow last year.

Fall is definitely off to a very good start.

Fashion And Happy Things Is Getting A New Dress or Moving To WordPress

If everything goes as planned then in a few days you’ll visit my blog to find it has a new look and some new features.

But there is always the possibility of bumps and lumps a long the way, so please bear with us while we’re under construction. If you’d like to be notified when the new blog is live and everything is working smoothly then you can like me on Facebook and I’ll post as soon as it’s live. Until then I will be posting as usual, so tomorrow’s Stylish Sundays will be up by Monday, because we all know I clearly don’t know the days of the week.

Oops or back to our regularly sporadic programming

I’m sorry I missed Stylish Sundays, I usually shoot the photos for it at the end of the week. Usually on Saturday, which is what I planned to do this past week. That didn’t happen because I injured my knee doing absolutely nothing late Friday night. Seriously, I was reheating something, and I leaned back to look at the time, instead of bending over like a normal person would, and I heard a very loud pop noise and then there was just pain in my knee. I’ve kinda always had issues with that knee, and expect to be told someday that I have to have surgery if I want to continue walking. Then add in that today was Fathers Day and it just couldn’t happen.

If you’re wondering where the rest of my normal posts have been, well my son is out of school for summer. Then add in that I’ve been trying to cram in 3 seasons of True Blood before this season started, I just didn’t find the time to blog. But things will be back to normal soon. I swear, I have a Sephora Haul coming this week. The photos have already been taken, they’re just waiting to be edited. Add in that I’ve got tons of reviews on all the things I’ve bought to do and I shouldn’t be hurting for content for a while.

I’m also thinking of expanding my subject matter a bit, to cover things like shows, books and food. I know I’ve touched on all those things in the past, but a lot of time I’m lazy in getting my 3 or 4 posts up a week because I’m flat out of ideas. This blog is meant to be about Fashion… And Happy Things. Food makes me happy, television makes me happy, and books make me really happy, but how do you guys feel about that?

OOTD: Spring Ready

So yesterday’s post was really blah I know. I was feeling really under the weather and couldn’t think straight. Today’s post is better, I swear.

Mostly because is an outfit post. It was a bit warmer the other day and we were going to dinner and I decided that I liked my outfit enough to take some photos for you guys.

I wore a striped top with an exposed back zip. It has 3 quarter length sleeves and a boatneck. I adore this top and think it’s incredibly flattering on me. I got it last fall at H&M, and can definitely see myself wearing it through spring and into early summer. It is a thicker knit so I don’t think I’d be able to wear it during the hottest days of summer, but it’ll make an appearance for summer nights when it cools off.

These light pink/peach slacks with the ankle zips are quickly becoming favorites of mine as well. The sit a bit weird at my hips so I definitely need to wear a longer top with them, but I’m okay with that since I prefer that length for tops anyway. These pants are also from H&M and while they were bought recently, I did buy them on sale so I don’t think you’d be able to find them.

My locket is from Jewelmint last spring. I absolutely adore it because its Rose Gold, and the style is interesting. It’s called The Lovers Locket, and it has a pretty floral design on the front. I wish the design continued to the back, because it has a tendency to flip around. That might just be me though because I can never seem to get my jewelry to lay properly. I actually bought this necklace to go with the shoes I’m wearing in this outfit.

The Shoes are from Sam Edelman and are by far my favorite part of this outfit.

They’re nude with a rose gold studded toe cap and a bow. I got them last year this time, but I think you can still find this style. These shoes are comfortable and surprisingly versatile. The studs and spikes give them edge, while the colors give them a very feminine look. If I had to sum up who I am in just one article of clothing it would be these shoes.

I’ve got a bit of a closer look of my face that I’ll be using for tomorrow’s post about the makeup I wore.
