I picked up Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly
Purity Made Simple by Philosophy
and Korres Greek Yogurt Lactic Acid Sleeping Facial gift set
I had a review that said I was on the fence about this, but I’m glad I bought this. Since I started using it daily my skin has been doing okay. It’s been a little bit better, so this moisturizer isn’t breaking me out. My face hasn’t cleared all up either, but I’ll take the same over worse any day.
I also won this Pixi Brillance Balm in Unique Pink from Pixi’s Twitter.
I kinda really adore it, but I plan on doing a full review soon.
Have you picked up anything new lately?
]]>This stuff is amazing. I absolutely adore it. First it’s a great deal, $12 ea or $24 for 3. Second it smells amazing. I can’t really place where the smell is from, but both I and my husband like it. Well he likes it on me, it’s too girly smelling for him to use. Bonus the smell stays in my hair after it dries. Seriously that never happens with me. Usually it just washes away and that’s it.
Lastly it makes my hair look amazing:
That first picture I swear my hair is just air dried. My dad also has those big Victoria’s Secret curls when he leaves his hair to air dry. Yes I said my Dad, his hair is also longer than mine. Way longer.
The other two photo’s are second day hair with a bit of the Victoria’s Secret Dry Shampoo brushed through. For some reason this always makes my hair so much straighter and I’m always a little sad because I miss the curls from the day before. I kinda want to try the Soft & Tousled Wave Enhancing Spray to see if that helps. The last photo is a bit frizzy because of wind. I remember we had a terrible time with it being windy that day.
You can find the original posts, for details about the outfits and makeup, here: 1,2,3
I really recommend Victoria’s Secret line of hair care. I’m actually surprised at how much I adore Victoria’s Secret’s beauty products. So far they’re my favorite I’ve ever used, and I’ve used Ojon, Ouidad, Paul Mitchell, and various BedHead shampoo’s and conditioners in just this past year.
Have you tried this line? What do you think? Any products I simply must try?

Similar to the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion it has pink goo on the bottom and a clear liquid on top. To apply it to your face you dip a q-tip straight down and then dot it on your acne. I use this every night provided my face isn’t feeling to sensitive. It’s not drying but it does sting a bit if the blemish is new or open. I put this on all my blemishes until they go away completely. As much as I hate to show this photo, here’s what it looks like once applied.
That’s a lot of pink right? Most of those are mostly healed up, but now you can see that I’m not kidding when I say I have severe hormonal acne. Also please excuse the bags under my eyes, it’s partially the angle and partially that this photo was taken at 1 am the day before I went to the pride festival. I had just finished the DIY floral crown I recently posted.
This, among other things I’ve recently added to my routine, is really helping, it used to be much worse than it looks now. While this isn’t an instant cure, there really isn’t anything for acne that actually is.

I got this tag from Touch Of Crimson, who’s blog I only just discovered yesterday and became completely obsessed with. Since I love tags, and haven’t been doing so well on the posting front, I decided this was completely necessary.
When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready until the last minuet?
Not usually, normally I’m ready to go, except on Sundays when I head out to my parents. Somehow I’m always rushing around and still I end up late.
Can you commit to spending bans?
No, I keep trying, but it’s skincare that gets me. I’m obsessed.
How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?
BAH! It isn’t, at all. It’s all mostly contained in boxes and train cases, but there is no organization to it. Absolutely none.

Mother’s Day is creeping up on us fast and I’m sure you’re all wondering what to get the women in your life who have Mothered you or your children.
There are two camps when it comes to Mother’s Day gift giving. The first camp is all DIY, homemade is best. The second firmly believes that Mother’s Day is about being spoiled, and giving your mom or the mother of your children a little bit of luxury. I believe that depends on the person you’re giving a gift.
Personally I’ve got a foot in both camp. I’ve gotten some lovely homemade cards, but I also have a major weak spot for luxury items. I really think it depends on what it is, the effort behind it, and the presentation.
However if you do have the expendable cash, below are some ideas.
Finally I leave you with this advice, think about your mother before you buy her gift. Personally, I’d be happy with some Chelsea Boots and a gift card to the Gap, and my own mother would prefer either some books or a gift card to Barnes and Noble. These gift ideas are just suggestions.
Spring fever has hit me hard this year. I’m so ready to switch to spring scents and colors. And I’ve complied quite a wish list.
I’m really in love with these body washes from Philosophy. I really want either Field of Flowers Peony Blossom or Love Sweet Love. Also the perfumes that match. I can’t help it I’m pretty in love with both of them.
While I’m talking scents I’m also really in love with the way the Tigi Bedhead Style Shots Epic Volume smells. Most of the time I buy my shampoo/conditioner based on the way it smells and not for what it says it’ll do. Sometimes it does what it says it will, mostly it doesn’t. But you can always count on the scent.
Then there’s these two colors from Nails Inc Swiss Cottage and Stratford. I can pick, I won’t pick, I love them both, I need them both!
Then another in the can’t decide club are Sugarbomb and Georgia from Benefit. I’ll have to swatch these to find out which one would work for my skin.
Then Highbeam is kinda nessacary. I don’t own a highlighter and I want to be dewy this spring. I had a sample of Highbeam before and I loved it.
Then finally on the beauty front I’m completely regretting not buying YSL Succulent Pomegranate Sheer Volupte Candy too. I’m so in love with Cool Guava that it’s all I want to wear. There will be more of these in my future.
Okay Readers, I might have already ordered a couple of the things above. If I did, then I can promise there will be a haul when they come in.
Do you change anything in your routine come spring?

I’m so excited about all the products that I decided to do a review/haul, so below I have what I bought and then I’ll talk about how I use the products.
First I purchased the Skincare Essentials Gift Set:
This Set includes a limited edition 150 ml Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, 200 ml Instant Boost Skin Tonic and a 50 ml Skin Repair Moisturizer in Dry/Sensitive and 2 Pure Muslin Cloths. I thought this was a really good value at $73.50 USD for the entire set.
Next I purchased some spare Muslin Cloths:
I got the 3×2 Pure Muslin Cloths for $15 USD. If you live in the UK you can pick up muslin cloths from Mothercare, but if you’re in the States like I am you’re a bit out of luck and literally the only other place I found them was from Amazon for an outrageous price.
Then since I needed to put my order over the $90 USD mark in order to qualify for the promotion they were having (and still are) I ordered a trial size of the Deep Cleansing Mask.
The Cleansing Mask comes with 2 sponges meant to be used to remove the mask. I haven’t tried it yet but it smells nice. It was $9 USD and is 15 ml. I also received a trial size of the moisturizer which is also 15 ml as the complimentary gift with every order which is pictured on the left.
Since I reached the $90 USD mark I was sent the Gift For You set worth $48 USD:
This “Gift For You” set includes a 30 ml Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, 50 ml Instant Boost Skin Tonic, 15 ml Skin Repair Moisturizer, 15ml Hand Repair and a 5g Superbalm. I like having the trial sizes as they’re perfect to travel with or for emergency use if I run out of a product before I can repurchase or it gets here since I have to order from the UK. The Hand Repair and the Superbalm were immediately chucked into my handbag, and both smell lovely.
About the Packaging: Okay first, how pretty is it? I love the shades of Blue and Mint for the products with the bright pop of Red on the Holiday packaging. Next to pink these shades of blue are my favorite colors. The bottles and tubes are all matte, and they feel really smooth and nice in your hand. It’s easy to control how much you get out and I haven’t had any issues with messes yet. The full size of the cleanser is just absolutely lovely. It just makes me so happy, I adore it.
The Hot Cloth Cleanser is the most fun bit of this range for me. It’s so different to anything I’ve used before and I’ve used Milk and Oil cleansers and everything in between. What makes this Cleanser so special is how you use it. I take one pump of the product and then on dry skin I dab it around my face like I would my morning foundation including a small dot of it on the center of each eyelid. Then you massage it into your skin saving your eye area for last (especially if you’re wearing mascara as there is a panda eyes issue.). Once you’ve spread it evenly all over your face, you take the muslin cloth and run it under a hand hot tap and gently wring it out. Then you wipe your face in small circular motions with the cloth. I do this in sections on my face, rinsing the cloth in between each section and saving my eye area for last. Then you use the toner and moisturizer like you would any other, but remember a little really does go a long way.
I am honestly so happy with this range and am so grateful to all the UK beauty bloggers that wrote about it, but especially to Zoella as it was her blog post and video on it that convinced me to get it since she seemed to describe the same skin issues I was having at the time I was looking into purchasing it. Bonus note: isn’t her hair fabulous? I’ve got major envy over it currently and have decided to grow mine out since I’ve had shoulder length hair for the past 2 years.
I do use one other product in my skincare routine, but since it’s not Liz Earle and I’ve been using it for a year so the package is all grubby I’ve decided not to include it in this post. I will be doing a Skincare routine video after I repurchase that product (soon it’s almost out!) and I’ll post that here with all the details of the products then.
I don’t by any means have perfect enviable skin. I actually have quite bad skin. This is actually a bit hard for me to talk about. I have adult onset acne, that started when I switched to a certain brand of birth control, and hasn’t fully gone away even though I’ve switched brands. It’s much better now, but until a year or so ago there were times when I would look at my face in the mirror and just sob it was so awful and painful. I had cystic acne and for those that don’t know it’s acne that’s deeply imbedded and inflamed and can usually be painful.
I spent a lot of money and time just trying out different cleansers that didn’t even seem to make a dent in my problem. I finally went to see a dermatologist and he gave me some samples of differin gel, which cleared my skin but also dried it out a bit to much, and he prescribed me an anti-biotic, which works extremely well, and I still take from time to time when the breakout’s get particularly bad. Up until I saw a doctor about it and it got significantly better it was as emotionally damaging as it was physically painful. I have a lot of scaring that I can only hope to lessen.
I also started using Kiehls Blue Herbal Cleanser and their oil free range of moisturizer and toner. To be honest it helped a bit in the beginning but not after awhile. It’s lovely to use and I’m nearing the end of it, but after 6 months of use, I decided not to repurchase. While it didn’t make my skin worse it stopped making it better as well after about 2 months of use.
I decided to write this post because since I decided not to repurchase the cleanser I was currently using, I’ve ordered the Liz Earle range, the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, the Instant Boost Tonic and the Skin Repairing Moisturizer. Liz Earle is a UK based range, but they do ship to the US. The products are natural and meant to be really gentle and suitable for all skin types. I’m going to be attempting to do weekly updates when it gets here, and I may take a photo a week as I use it and if I’m brave enough I’ll post them in a compilation so you can see what it does or doesn’t do for my skin.
I’m really excited to try out this new range, but while I hope it works, I’ve been disappointed by so many other skin care lines that I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much about this one. I’ve heard good things though which is why I’m going to try it. Have you found your perfect skin care line yet, or are you still searching. Tell me some products you love in the comments below.
]]>I have quite a few bloggers that I adore and actually keep up with, so I decided to share those loves with you guys. My top 10 blogs are all blogs I anticipate new posts and save them for last or let them pile up before reading them. They’re my guilty pleasure blogs.
The first is FleurDeForce, I’m not going to blather about all of them but Fleur is definitely my favorite. She’s a Blogger/Vlogger from the UK and is adorable and Sunny and I want to be just like her when I grow up, despite the fact that she’s actually younger than me. Fleur really is the ideal role model, she’s beautiful, has the loveliest voice I’ve ever heard, and while here in the States it’s considered normal for a beautiful woman to look slightly ill or sallow, Fleur looks healthy and vibrant. I adore her outfit of the day videos they’re always very classy, and have watched/read her consistently since I discovered her blog 2 years ago.
Next is Dazzledust25 or Amy if you prefer an Irish vlogger who is one of the people who inspired me to even start blogging at all. I didn’t get off to such a great start. Though that’s because I’m much more of a reader than a writer. She’s a great blogger though, usually posting several times a day.
Then there’s BuyNowBlogLater also known as Laura. She used to make youtube videos as well, but has decided to simplify and just blog. And I adore her blog, and I covet her shopping habbits.
While the first 3 are very well known blogs and also all of the ladies are overseas, the fourth is a lesser known blogger that is closer to home for me, but not too much closer as she’s Canadian, that i absolutely adore. SometimesFancy’s blog is mainly about all things Nail related, which I love. I only follow one other Nail blogger and I don’t adore her as much as I do Lindsay. I have talked to her a bit on twitter where she goes by the moniker Sometimesicing she also has a blog called Sometimesicing that I follow, but not as closely as I follow her nail blog.
The next bloggers are all equally as lovely but if I go on pages and pages about them you’ll get bored and stop reading this so make sure you check out:
Diary of a Fat Girl
The Indulgent New York
Keiko Lynn
Rachhloves
Okay so those are my top ten blogs that I follow a little obsessively. Make sure you check them out the next time you’re caught inside on a Rainy Day, curling up with these blogs and a cup of tea and I promise you’ll wonder where your day went
Bonus Blog: Rachel Nichols, definitely one of my favorite blogs, the only big difference between her blog and the others is she’s a celebrity. I adore her, I’ve talked to her a bit on Twitter (she’s super down to earth and super kind to her fans, and is less retweet-y and more conversational-y.) you can follow her at RachelNichols1. Her blog is honest, hilarious, and, aside from the perks of being an actress, really down to earth. I’d say the biggest difference between her and I (aside from the obvious) is that I always know what’s in the packages I’m receiving, while she often sends herself mystery packages.
Okay so the title says top 10, but really counting that Lindsay has 2 blogs and Rachel Nichols bonus blog it’s really more like 12.
